A textured mosaic of an European Bee-eater bird. This mosaic was created for an exhibition entitled "Beyond Boundaries" in Sizergh gallery and cafe, 2024. A few Bee-eater birds have been regularily spotted in Norfolk, and some even spotted in Cumbria. Climate change is thought to be a factor for why these beautiful birds are travelling well beyond their normal summer range.

The Mosaic is made of hand cut Italian glass smalti and hand-pulled smalti filati. The back ground is hand tinted self levelling cement.

The mosaic has an integral d ring hook to hang from a regular picture hook but requires a solid wall or you might like to purchase an additional table top easel to display on a mantlepiece or table .

The mosaic is hand made, one of a kind, made by the artist. The mosaic frame is not a perfect square or rectangle, its deliberately uneven as I want the mosaics to resemble the unique ,varied, slate stone walls of the Lake District.
