A textured mosaic of a Turtle. This mosaic was inspired by a loggerhead turtle that washed up on Walney Island in Cumbria.
The turtle is made of hand cut unglazed ceramic tiles, the shell is foraged lakeland slate. The fish are hand cut from a broken Asda plate. The back ground is hand tinted self levelling cement. The frame is hand cut lakeland slate.
The mosaic has an integral d ring hook to hang from a regular picture hook but requires a solid wall or you might like to purchase an additional table top easel to display on a mantlepiece or table.
The mosaic is hand made, one of a kind, made by the artist. The mosaic is not a perfect square or rectangle, its deliberately uneven as I want the mosaics to resemble the unique ,varied, slate walls of the Lake District.
